Mystery Class #2

"Come visit our town! Despite the chilly name given by the French long ago, the water is not always icy. We have a wonderful museum that pays tribute to the many people who made their living underground, and a national historic site that marks the location from where a famous signal was sent, without wires, across the Atlantic."

Ocean coast
Mystery Class #3

"Ready for vacation? Our town is considered the heart of our island's tourism industry. And our school sits on the cliff line above our famous ocean bay, with the same name as our town, which is lined with vacation hotels."

Mystery Class #4

"Sunrise and sunset times here (when we have them) are a little imprecise because of our latitude, and so your longitude calculation for us will be close but not exact. But these final clues will help. Our country has three year-round research stations on the continent; our station has a coastal location, and is the largest of the three. If you want to get a good "observation" of the station, hike up the "hill" next to us for this view. Our nearest neighbors are from New Zealand."

Hill
Mystery Class #5

"What a view! Take a funicular to this mountain church high above our city, one of the largest and most populated cities in the country. And here are three capital points about our city that should get you here: it is the capital of a surrounding department, it is a capital district itself, and it is the capital of our country!"

Visitor site
Mystery Class #6

"What's in a name? Plenty! Derived from an indigenous tribe's name for the celestial object that brightens the night sky, our city has the same name as our valley, our county, and a nearby mountain, university, and auto raceway. And raise the flag! A nonviolent revolt happened here about 170 years ago when a new flag was raised, which led to our state becoming its own republic."

Mystery Class #7

"Rocketship? Burial site? You'll know you're in our capital city when you spot a rocket-shaped monument in memory of the first president of our country (and where his body is said to be kept!). Save your money if you're traveling here; our city is said to be one of the most expensive cities in the world to live in."

Mystery Class #8

"Two famous figures in our city's history are a fisherman named Wars, and a composer named Fred commemorated in this monument. Our city is the capital of our province and our nation."

Monument
Mystery Class #9

"If you look at our city from above, you will see not only a modern city skyline, but also red roofs like these for as far as the eye can see. Both our city and our department have a similar name, and our city is said to have the largest population in the nation."

Roof and city view
Mystery Class #10

"Looking down from our school, you can see the terrain of our city, which is said to have been built on seven hills. A few other tips to finding us -- many tourists will visit the Roman theatre; some visit the Citadel too. Our city is the capital of our governorate and has the same name too; it is also the capital of our Kingdom.
