Dear
Journey North Friends,
It seems the Monarchs are a little late this year. I went to el Cerrito
this morning and, after looking around for a few minutes, the first Monarch
came out from the trees! A couple of minutes later, one more, then a little
more inside two... four... I then decided to stay longer and wait in case
more would come out but, after half an hour, they only amounted to a total
of 6 Monarchs. The small forest still looks empty, as you can see in this
photo.
For a couple of days we have had deep blue skies, but not as cold as it
should be in the mornings and evenings. (It used to be ice-cold by this
time every year.)
Many more Monarchs should be on the way now. I should tell you as soon
as I have some more news.
A warm hello
from Angangueo,

Pictures
of El Cerrito
People of Angangueo usually see the first monarchs on a hillside above
their town called El Cerrito (The Little Hill).
This
year
Six monarchs were sighted at El Cerrito on Wednesday.
Last
year
Monarchs
clustering in the trees at El Cerrito. Look
closely. Can you see them?
