¡Bienvenidos monarcas!

The Arrival of the Butterflies: La Llegada de las Mariposas

Special thanks to Biologist Felipe Martinez for sharing his beautiful photos of the monarchs' arrival at their winter home in Mexico!

Felipe Martinez works in the Monarch Reserve. He is responsible for monitoring the monarchs in their winter habitat, so it's fitting that he was among the first to witness the safe arrival of millions of monarchs there.

Enjoy the magnificent spectacle of butterflies flying across the Mexican sky and clustering in their winter colonies for the first time. This is a time for celebration!
