The Monarchs Have Arrived!
October 26, 2010
(English/Español)

Dear Friends,
Since last Friday, the monarchs have practically made us crazy!

They started to appear on Friday, October 22nd. Dozens were present on Saturday, but on Sunday we could scarcely find 4-6 monarchs. They went away!! They must have momentarily moved somewhere nearby because Monday afternoon, to my relief, all of them and a few more were present again. The monarchs were starting to crowd the tips of branches on the trees. As you can see, our friend María Teresa (age 12) filled in the monitoring chart while we were visting El Cerrito.

At last, we can now officially announce the arrival of the Monarch Butterflies to our town and sanctuaries!

We will soon be visiting children at the schools in our region, and handing out your symbolic butterflies. So hurry up and send them! We are all eager to receive your symbolic butterflies!!!

Many, many greetings.

Estela, friends and family.
