They're Here!

October 30, 2014

Dear Friends,

The first three monarchs of the 2014-2015 overwintering season have reached their mountain home in México!

At 6:35 pm this evening at full sunset, the monarchs were flying about in the core of El Cerrito Forest, likely preparing to rest for the night in the soft pines having just completed their long journey south.

BRAVO!!! BRAVISIMO!!!

It was not possible, dear friends, to catch a photo of the Monarchs themselves flying over at only some meters from our own heads!!!

In the days ahead we hope to catch the massive arrival of Monarchs, either in the mornings when their awakening time with the bright sun falling upon us, or at their sleeping time in El Cerrito Forest. We'll be trying to forecast at the same time how dense the population might be coming this year!!

Until then, the 2014-2015 Monarch Overwintering Season is now officially underway with the arrival of three amazing monarch butterflies!
