Here at Last!

November 27, 2014

Dear Friends:

Yesterday (November 26), there was a very important arrival of Monarchs!

Here in Angangueo, I could see large numbers flying at the entrance of the town, indeed heading towards the sanctuaries.

The most surprising was by 4 o'clock in the afternoon, while I was driving towards Zitácuaro, I could almost crash with "herds" of Monarchs overflying and almost clouding the sky at the San Felipe los Alzati crossing.

The weather finally improved as of yesterday. The clouds went away and for full days we've had wonderful, bright, sunny skies — but VERY cold evenings and mornings.

Today they announced on TV that cities like Toluca (not so far away from Angangueo), registered -4 °C this morning.  Here in Angangueo, we are also having a very cold morning.  It could be 0°C or lower, I am sure.

So, this is the absolutely ideal weather for monarchs to complete their arrival.
