Field Report from Mexico by Sheila Turner

March 3, 2010

I was at the Chincua & El Capulin monarch sanctuaries on February 15 & 16. The butterflies at both sanctuaries were active and appeared to be doing well. This was my first visit.

While visiting the El Capulin sanctuary I witnessed thousands of monarchs fluttering about in the beautiful blue sky. It was an awesome sight! There are no words to describe the sights and sounds of this amazing forest!

I, along with fellow teachers & employees from my school, took clothing & blankets to donate to the flood victims.

This was a trip of a lifetime and I recommend that you visit the monarchs in Mexico. It is an unforgettable experience.
