Highlights:
Keeping an eye on robin activity in KY: “I can't be certain but I believe the pair that returned here on the 22nd will be staying. They have already started to work on a nest, which is a good sign to me. Especially where they've located it, I can view it readily from our deck doors. They've been defending it closely...” Columbia, KY 03/24/08

Northern Observation Post:
"Robins landed en-mass.Every Lawn has A robin on it defending it`s territory. No Females yet." Port Hope, ON 03/28/08

"On Thursday it was sunny and the ground was bare; by Saturday morning we had 14 inches of snow. My neighbor blew a path across the lawn between us and the sun quickly melted it down to grass. The robins took full advantage. I watched and they found plenty to eat." Fulton, MI 03/28/08

Study and Compare: Robins and Temperature Maps

An age-old theory about robin migration says that robins arrive in an area when the average temperature is 36 degree F. Is it accurate?

The lines and colored bands on the average temperature map (right) show places that had the same average temperatures last week.

The blue dots on the robin map show where reporters heard their first robins singing. What color on the temperature map outlines the areas where it is 30-40°F?
