GO Cranes! (+83 Miles)
January 12, 2008: Migration Day 81

Photo Operation Migration

Yesssss! All 17 wonderful birds flew over the Pike County stop and continued to Marion County, Georgia. Hooray! Another 83 miles gone, for a total of 960.3 miles. It was a hard morning; takeoff had to be delayed because of lingering fog that slowly burned off. Then #717 refused to come out of the pen. (More >>) But everyone is now safely on the ground. More good news: According to computer models, the forecast for the next several days looks promising. Keep your fingers crossed that the migration's end is near!
