Third
Day Down (+0
Miles)
Again, the weather is stalling departure from Morgan County, Indiana. But we are happy to report that two of last year’s DAR (Direct Autumn Release) cranes are the FIRST Whooping Cranes to finish their fall migration to Florida. Year-old cranes #27-06 and #28-06 made the trip in just 4 days! Meanwhile, our young cranes need a lot of human help to make their first migration and learn the way. Luckily, people like Nadia and her family are helping too! They folded over 1,000 paper cranes to raise money to help pay for this year's ultralight-led migration. Nadia (photo above) shares the story and pictures in a slide show that will inspire you. The Operation Migration team gave her a very special thanks! >> In the Classroom
