Yessss! After 4 grounded days, today they flew right over the Madison County stop and onward to Gilchrist County, Florida. Hooray! That's 86 miles on Day 87: 1199 miles total. Next stop: Halpata-Tastanaki Preserve
— just one flight from their final goal.

NEXT FLY DAY: Arrival Event! See the birds fly over the Dunnellon/Marion County Airport, 15070 SE 111th St. (off Hwy 484E) in Dunnellon, Florida, on their way to Halpata. The flyover should be around 7:30/8:00 a.m. It's almost Celebration time!

In the Classroom

(a) How did folding paper cranes help the fourth graders in Nekoosa, Wisconsin, help this migration? check it out on their "Classrooms in Action" page.
(b) You know that frost causes problems on the ultralight wings, but something else was causing the problem at the Jefferson County stop they departed today. Why did the team have to surround the trikes with electric fencing? Think about your answer, and then click here.
