Woo-hoo! About 30 minutes after the team decided winds were too strong, they flew a test flight anyway to check conditions aloft. SURPRISE! Conditions were GOOD! Everyone went into high gear in a scramble to cross the state border —and reach Union County, KENTUCKY! Pilot Richard had 10 on his trike and Brooke flew in the chase position. One bird dropped out; Joe found him and managed to get him to fly a bit closer to the pen before the bird dropped out again. Then he was tracked, found, and crated. (Any guesses which bird it was? Yes, #2-10.) Their flight time was one hour and fourteen minutes. Oh, happy day!
