Countdown to Migration
September 17, 2012
Weekly Updates

The countdown begins! Ultralight planes and the Class of 2012 could start migration September 25. This earliest-ever target date was set today by lead pilot Joe Duff, who told Journey North:

"This year we only have six birds with nine days between them in age. That should mean they will be ready to leave earlier than in the past, and we are hoping for a departure before the end of September."

It all comes down to the weather, the ruler of this human-led migration. Watch for a news flash the day migration begins.
