Stalled at Stopover #1 (Total Gone: 5 Miles)
October 7, 2013
Weekly Updates

Autumn winds and rain halted any progress beyond Stopover #1 in the migration's first week. Their first flights are short to give the birds success and to get them into strange territory. That way, they'll pay more attention to their aircraft "parents." They enclosed in a travel pen with space enough to explore. It's equipped with water dishes, buckets with food, and a top net to keep the birds inside. Until our next weekly summary on October 14, find daily updates at Operation Migration and see the chicks on the crane cam. Everyone hope for improved flying conditions for week two!
