Now in Illinois! (Total Gone: 120 Miles)

Weekly Updates

The cranes and planes advanced on two flights last week. They're now in Winnebago County, Illinois. They attempted flying to LaSalle County on Oct. 27, but had to turn back when conditions deteriorated, and winds have grounded them for the past 3 days. All eight cranes flew the 34-mile leg into Illinois off Richard's wing, but their Oct. 22 flight was a different story! Check your favorite bird's bio page, updated each day they fly, to see which were the only two cranes to fly the distance on Oct. 22. Until our next weekly summary on Nov. 4, find daily updates at Operation Migration and watch live action on the crane cam. GO cranes!
