A Single Day of Progress (Total Gone: 175 Miles)
November 4, 2013
Weekly Updates

After nine days grounded by winds, Nov. 3 was Game Day. All eight Whooping cranes eagerly flew 55 miles to stopover #6 in LaSalle County, Illinois. They were in the air just over two hours. Check the bio pages to discover which bird lagged back after takeoff, but was swooped up by chase pilot Richard and had his aircraft wing all to herself for 55 miles. Alas, high winds started this week with a down day. Bio pages are updated each each day they fly, and you'll find daily updates at Operation Migration. Watch live action on the crane cam until our next weekly summary on Nov. 11.
