Egg Laying

The female usually lays a clutch of two eggs, though she can lay as many as four. She doesn't usually lay one egg each day. It usually takes three to six days to complete her clutch.

Bald eagle eggs are white. Sometimes there are some pale brown splotches, but not usually. They are shaped like most eggs, and weigh around 110-130 grams. They range from 6-8 centimeters long and are about 5-6 centimeters wide.

On occasion, some eggs may not hatch — when this happens, the eggs are called infertile, meaning they were not productive.
