The real thing

Did you find the match? Way to go! This is the first match based on flank pigmentation that's ever been made between the winter breeding grounds and the summer feeding grounds. It's really significant that the match came from the Cape Caution catalogue, since it confirms that the so-called Southern Residents, present in the Pacific Northwest every summer, do in fact migrate and presumably participate in the breeding with the rest of the population, which migrates to Alaskan waters every year.
