A Monarch's Life's Journey

Howdy young person. I'm just telling you about my life.

I grew up in Texas on the first milkweed plant there. I started as an egg, then I was a larva, then a chrysalis and finally an adult. When I came out of the chrysalis, I remembered my name. I remembered my mom's last words "Good bye my little Crystin." Then she flew off with silent wings and never came back.

I saw that the leaves were changing. I started my migration to Mexico. I flew through the rain. Boy, the raindrops were heavy ! One of the other monarchs fell but I caught him before he hit the ocean. And then the rain stopped. I saw this monarch was a boy ! He told me his name was Chris.

We finally made it to Mexico and boy were the people different and the
animals too. We got caught and this person gave us flowers and we sipped sweet water. Then after that the person let us free.

Well we've got to fly ! Bye ! On the way back to Texas I laid the rest of my eggs. Then I died.

Once upon a time there was a butterfly who grew up in an egg. She came out of the egg. When she was young she was a caterpillar. Then she turned into a chrysalis. Then she popped out.

She started to migrate. She said " It's a long way south." She remembered what her mom had said " Have a nice journey."

She flew south. She landed in New York and saw the Statue of Liberty. The butterfly went to the forest. She almost got killed. She said "That was close". One of the other butterflies died but she didn't.

Then the butterfly landed in Pennsylvania. She almost got killed by people.

Then she started off to West Virginia. There were a lot of people there.

The butterfly made it to Mexico. She heard people say " Uno, dos, tres."

In the spring she started back. She laid an egg and then she died.
