Procedures: After students have researched facts on a topic, they become “Experts” and present the data in a creative way to an audience. The experts participate in a panel discussion. They make a presentation that summarizes facts about the topic. They elicit and respond to questions from the audience. They conclude the presentation.

Examples: After researching the effects of deforestation, students present an overview of the facts. Students in the audience pose questions for the panel after their introductory presentations. The panel responds to the questions and makes concluding statements.

Variations: Have students work in small groups. Each member of the group researches one aspect of the topic. As a group, the members represent various parts of an issue or topic.
