When Will Robins Reach the End of the Trail?
Looking at Monthly Temperatures in Your Region
and at the Northern Observation Posts
(Back to lesson)

This animation shows how global temperatures change throughout the year.

  1. Take time to understand the map. Look at the title and key. Find your approximate location.
  2. Think about when robins usually arrive in your area. Look at your region as you watch the animation a couple of times. What are the average temperatures during the month when robins usually arrive? (You can translate these from centigrade to fahrenheit.)
  3. Look at the regions where the Northern Observation Posts are located. In what month(s) do the NOPs experience similar temperatures? Consider this as you make your predictions.
