May 21, 2001 (continued): GO!!

Where did everybody go? The babies were a little tight in the nest, but they could have squeezed in together for a few more days. The nest was warm and safe. There are predators, pesticides, and all kinds of dangers in the big wide world. Why did they leave when they're still so young and inexperienced?

Q. Why do robins leave their safe nest before they can fly and when there are so many dangers outside the nest?

Q. Will the baby robins return to their nest? Where else might they sleep?
