Tulip Test Gardens Important Dates for Warmer Regions (Zones 8-11)   November 21, 2011: Start bulb pre-chill treatment by this date. Your bulbs must be pre-chilled in a refrigerator for at least 6 weeks. In order to plant the first week of January, the latest date you can start this process is November 22, 2010. FIRST week of January, 2012: Plant your garden by this date. Plant your tulips any time during the first week of January, 2011. (If your school extends the holiday break beyond the first week of January, please contact us with your planting plans.)     Report After Your Garden Planted After your bulbs have been pre-chilled for at least 6 weeks you can plant them. Report to Journey North after planting and see your garden spot appear on the tulip garden map.
