Our
Grade 2 students were so excited when they finally saw their
tulips emerge! We had a very long and snow-filled winter
and they didn't think tulips would ever make it through all that
snow.
They
were amazed to see them coming up through the snow that was still
covering the garden. When we were following
the checklist for planting, we didn't think about the snow plow! |
The
garden under the snow pile! |
We
are partnered with 2 Grade two classes in Dallas, Texas, and
have been comparing our tulip gardens all year.
They
thought our tulips would emerge first as they were planted
in early October
and our friends in Texas did not plant theirs until January.
As we did weekly weather reports they soon realized the difference
in our
temperatures and climates. The tulips in Texas were emerged
and bloomed long before ours made it out of the ground. -
