Hokkaido International School
Sapporo, Hokaido, Japan

Hokkaido International School has been serving international and Japanese families in Sapporo for 50 years. We are a small-by-design school with a student body of 200 students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.

We live on the northernmost island in Japan and we have beautiful forests, mountains and lakes to explore.

Our students are from 21 countries: Japan, Korea, the US, Canada, Belgium, Ghana, Zambia, Sudan, Russia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan, Guatemala, Brazil, South Africa, Australia, France, England, Greece, and India. Most are bilingual and many speak three or more languages!

Our Garden:
Our garden was planted and tended by the the 3rd and 4th grade classes with help and guidance from the 10th grade biology class. The older students worked as teachers for the younger students and worked for several weeks before planting and during planting. Everyone was very excited when the tulips came up!
