Eating on the Equinox 2009
Who's Having Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Right Now?
Imagine...it's the spring equinox in the Northern Hemisphere, and it's sunrise along the prime meridian, 0 degrees longitude, 06:03 a.m. on March 20. The image below shows where the sun is shining at that moment and where it is not. At that moment, some of your Mystery Classes are eating breakfast while others are waiting for dinner, and some are in between. Some are asleep and others are heading in that direction soon. Using the clues below, can you put the 10 Mystery Class Smiley Faces in order from east to west?

"Please bring my breakfast," says Smiley #1. "I'm already up, and I need my fuel for school."

"I'm awake too" says Smiley #2, "but I haven't been awake quite as long as Smiley #1, so I will eat my breakfast a little bit after Smiley #1 does."

Some Smileys have been awake longer than Smileys #2 and #1, including Smileys #4,#8, #3, #6 and #9 (in order of who has been awake, from the shortest time to the longest time).

"My next meal will be lunch in about 3 hours or so", says Smiley #4." "Not me, I just finished lunch", says Smiley #8. "I finished lunch about an hour or so ago", says Smiley #3. "I finished lunch about two hours ago" said Smiley #6. "Me too", said Smiley #9, "except I finished lunch a little earlier than Smiley #6. I'm looking forward to dinner in a few hours."

Meanwhile, "stop talking about food, and please be quiet! We are still tucked in bed and have several more hours of sleep", say Smileys #7 and #10. "We'll get up in that order because that's the same order in which we went to bed."

"I'll get up after Smiley #10", says Smiley #5. "Right now, I'm watching evening TV, and I'll go to bed soon."
