Younger Students, Fewer Mystery Classes

Mystery Class was a big success. As a third grade teacher I only use three of the mystery classes because this is more manageable. After the last clue came in and we glued these in our Mystery Class folders, the students used Atlases, Encyclopedias, and the Internet to find their city.

Each group created a poster to display information about their "guesses." They made country flags, wrote facts about the city, and used pictures of animals from the Internet. They loved this activity and the parents were very impressed at how well the students could explain their predictions. They easily discussed photoperiod, hemispheres, and continent locations.
