Highlights:
Homemade Sugar Water
"This is only our second year of putting
up feeders. Used commercial "food" most
of last year, then started using homemade sugarwater. Not using
any red dye this year and they are still here anyway," reports
a birdwatcher in NC. Read how to make your own feeder food >>
Later
Than Average?
First ruby-throat sighted
in Negginan, MB, "This is about
a week later than most years (52.59, - 97.16)."
Madison,
WI, also reports delay in first sighting, "Feeders
have been up for a month. First hummer showed today at 10:30 a.m. Almost two weeks later than last year.
So happy to see them back!"
