Explore the essential question, "How do climate conditions affect plant growth?" Use your school yard to study microclimates created by sunlight, humidity, moisture, and wind. Then try the Microclimate Challenge: Plant tulip bulbs in microclimates with contrasting conditions to discover how climate affects plant growth.

Who is planting a Test Garden This Fall?
The map is filling up with dots as students across the Northern Hemisphere dig in. From Alaska to New York and beyond to Kazakhstan; visit a few of the gardeners involved in this big experiment.
If you have planted and reported in to Journey North your little brown square shows where your garden is located. So far this fall 178 gardens have been reported planted! Take a look at the map and learn more about the gardeners across the Northern Hemisphere. Consider "meeting" other gardeners to share data and climate information.
Temperature maps can give us clues about weather and climate in different parts of the world. How does your garden climate compare with other Test garden sites across the Northern Hemisphere?
