Since last week, twenty more gardens reported emerging tulips and 19 others observed first blooms. How does your garden compare with other locations?

Emerging
Tulips emerged in Vermont, Minnesota, Iowa, and New Hampshire.

Vermont (44°N)
"Today we observed that our tulips emerged! The shoots are about one to two inches tall. The bottom of the shoots are green with red tops." 04/08/15 Fairlee

Minnesota (45°N)
"Today the air temperature was 43°F and the soil temperature was 40°F. About half of our tulip bulbs have started to emerge from the soil." 04/07/15 Minneapolis

Iowa (42.7°N)
"When we came back to school after break, we saw the first of our tulips were up!" 04/06/15 Waverly

Blooming
Tulips bloomed in Kentucky, Missouri, Oregon, and France.

Kentucky (38°N)
"We discovered that the tulips began to bloom on the Monday we returned from spring break." 04/06/15 Lexington

Missouri (39°N)
"Tulips are blooming! Happy Easter!" 04/04/15 Greenwood

Oregon (45°N)
"All tulips have emerged. Some are towards the end of flowering, some have yet to open." 04/03/15  Portland
