Final Ambassadors Now in Mexico
Last Ambassador butterflies mailed to Mexico. Enjoy this selection of images!
Greetings!
Final Shipment
The final shipment of Ambassadors was sent on Friday, November 17. These late migrants to our mailbox in Georgia swiftly left for Mexico. We were happy to see all Ambassador Butterflies making their way to Mexico.
School Visits
Ms. Romero has completed her school visits near the Cerro Pelon Sanctuary in the state of Mexico. She now begins visiting schools located near the El Rosario Sanctuary in the state of Michoacan. Several posts in both English and Spanish have already been made on her blog site documenting the Ambassadors delivered. Her blogs feature many photos, each telling a unique story.
During her school visits, Ms. Romero focuses on monarch biology and conservation. This year, Ms. Romero will also lead students in learning about water. Her lessons will include topics about the water cycle, the importance of water to all life, and water pollution. Ms. Romero will encourage students to think of ways that they can be part of the solution to water pollution.
Ms. Romero will use posters, books, and other learning tools to discuss water. A grant from Monarch Butterfly Fund (Small Grants Program) provided funding for various posters and books
How to Find Your Ambassador Butterflies
To search for your Ambassador, use the SEARCH function at the top right of the web page to enter your city or school name. Be patient as the delivery of Ambassadors will take several months, finishing in late February 2024.
If you have not yet posted your participation on Journey North, follow the instructions on this web page and of course. Enjoy the slideshow of monarch ambassador photos contributed by educators in Canada and the US.
If you continue to see real monarchs, please log your sightings by following this link.
Sincerely,
Susan Meyers
