Highlights: Surging North
Ruby-throated Hummingbirds continue to push north to the edges of their range. Sightings were reported in northern Maine and up into New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Ontario this week. Cool temperatures weren’t stopping the migration.

"Male Ruby-throat at feeder at 10:30 am. Cloudy with a temperature of 8°C."

Females are arriving a few days after males as noted by observers on Prince Edward Island:

"First male arrived May 10th, and 2 females came to the feeder today.”

Rufous Migrate to Interior
The Rufous migration is following the typical spring pattern. This week Rufous were sighted in eastern British Columbia and Alberta.

"The first male Rufous arrived on Mother's Day!"

Western Species Highlights
In Ivins, Utah a storm last weekend brought in so many hummingbirds that Anna's, Costa's, and Black-chinned all arrived at feeders the same day.

"There were some of all three species on one feeder."
