FINAL Mystery Class Update: May 5, 2006
We meet at last! It's time to greet your new global friends who have mystified you for 11 weeks. Which class' country is governed by a Sultan? By an Emir? By Emperors? Find out these answers and more when you meet everyone. Teachers, use today's tools to assess how well your students grasped the key concepts of Mystery Class. And please let us know your thoughts with our Year End Evaluation. Have a great summer. We hope to see you next year.

At last! The 10 secret sites are revealed today. Congratulations! You've searched around the World and now the day is here--find out "Where in the World" they have been hiding. Contest participants--who had the most correct answers? And be sure to come back next week to meet and greet (and eat with) your new friends!

Mystery Class Update: April 21, 2006
Have you sent in your Mystery Class Contest entry yet? Here's your friendly reminder that the deadline is Friday, April 21. Grab these Teacher Tips and some popcorn, and watch the inspiring video clips to help prepare you for next week, when the secret locations and contest results are revealed. You haven't met the Mystery Classes yet, but did you know you're already connected in many ways? Take the Earth Day Quiz and learn more.

Mystery Class Update: April 14, 2006
You can almost feel it! The excitement is building all around the World. Use the final sunrise/sunset data and final clues given today to answer this question: "Where in the world do you think our 10 Mystery Sites are located?". Teachers, are you entering the Contest? Don't throw it all away--your deadline is Friday, April 21. Be sure to print and follow the Contest Instruction Checklist carefully. Good luck!

Time's running out--just one more set of clues after this week. Your Mystery Friends are anxious to learn if you have uncovered their secret locations yet--have you? Retrace the travels of our classroom correspondent on "Latitude Shoes". Is there a special force on the equinox? Study one classroom's "Eggciting" test results and find out what the experts say. Teachers, are you entering the Contest? We have the required Instructions to help you get ready for the April 21 deadline.

No April Fooling, today's data and times are here. Have another sneak peek and watch the animated temperature map to help get you even closer. Breaking news on Bionic Shoes--a cool new invention. And time's up--send us your "Eggquinox" study findings. Also, get "straightened" out on the great questions the equinox raised. Teachers, the deadline is drawing near--get advance Mystery Class Contest instructions.

Mystery Class Update: March 24, 2006
Your stealthy Mystery Classes have sent in their eighth set of data, and second set of clues. "Listen" for hints in this season's first audio clue. And don't miss the special equinox image from space--it's out of this world. Plus, many good questions sprung up on the first day of spring--will they shed any light on the topics? Visit a few classrooms to learn some recent "eggciting" findings. And, can a teacher balance an egg?

Extra, extra, read all about it! The first clues have arrived with a greeting from your mystery friends too. And watch a "behind the scenes" video about clues. Plus, the seventh set of data is here--whose times have "slipped"? By the way, what's the standing of your egg-balance experiment? Monday is the Vernal Equinox, so be sure to conduct your egg balancing that day--will you notice anything special with your eggs? And who wanted to be a millionaire long before any game shows?

Mystery Class Update: March 10, 2006
Happy Vernal Equinox (a little early!) To celebrate, here is the sixth set of sunrise/sunset times along with the long-awaited Longitude Clues. They'll help you estimate the longitude of the secret sites. We've calculated two of them as examples. Plus, read the discussions of CQ #3 and #4: find out what some of you have in common (or not) with Mystery Class #4, and what your predictions were for the Photoperiod graph on the Equinox.

With today's fifth set of data, will your graph reveal any new secrets? Can you predict how it will look on the Vernal Equinox? Find out what happened to MC #9's times, and take advantage of one last prep session and video for the Longitude Clues that finally arrive next week. Find out how and why they work. By the way, what's the standing of your "eggsperiment"?

Will this week's fourth set of sunrise/sunset data let you list the Mystery Classes from north to south? Plus, see more helpful lessons, a new downloadable booklet, and Teacher Tips too--all to help you use the upcoming Longitude Clues. Find out who "straightened" things out in CQ #1. Finally, make your predictions now, try this "Eggceptional" experiment--do eggs really stand up on end only on the Equinox?

What will the third set of sunrise/sunset data reveal this week? Will it change your preliminary thoughts about their locations? And is something else changing besides day length? An "enlightening" video and web of life lesson uncover how changing photoperiod affects everything from plants to animals. What would change if you could un-tilt the Earth? Plus, get the building blocks to help you prepare for the upcoming Longitude Clues.
Mystery Class Update: February 10, 2006
The second set of sunrise/sunset data is in, and the times are changing already. Using this data, can you "unearth" anything new about the secret sites? Are their photoperiods increasing? Decreasing? Or...? A teacher tip helps you uncover as much as possible. Test your parents about the 24 hour clock. Plus, do you know what the real "Reasons for Seasons are"? A mini- unit of lessons "shines some light" on this question.

Welcome to Mystery Class! The first set of sunrise/sunset times from the ten secret Mystery Classes has arrived along with a little personal greeting from one of the secret classrooms too. Find information on everything from organizing your hunt to calculating photoperiods and from glossaries to graphing. There are also tips for teachers, including ideas for younger students and video clips too. So grab your globe--it's time to uncover, discover, graph, laugh, search and research. Where do think the ten secret sites are hiding? Let the Games begin!
