Two monarchs, but are they migratory?
by Estela Romero (English/Español)

Dear friends,
I took a little walk around the town, and asked a couple of people who live in El Rosario and Chincua if they had seen any Monarchs yet. They tell me that the first ones should appear any time but, up to now, nothing has been seen so as to announce the big news.

Then, on my way back, right in the middle of the little forest, suddenly two Monarchs appeared! They were medium-sized which raises some questions. According to Dr. Lincoln Brower, their small size might mean they are not migrant monarchs, but monarchs that bred here locally. All we can say is that two monarchs have been sighted in Angangueo!
