Angangueo Ready to Welcome the Monarchs!
(English/Español)

October 4, 2012

Dear Friends:

Hello from Mexico!

My family and I live in the mountain region of central México where monarchs overwinter every year.

The months since the monarchs left last March have passed by incredibly quickly. Now, while you in the North are saying farewell to the just-born-4th generation, being these the Matusalén Monarchs, we people in Angangueo are eager to see them arrive at their winter home in our forests. It is still our rainy season and the forest is thoroughly wet.

My family and I welcome you to our region, and, camera at hand, are ready to announce the Monarchs' arrival to their final destination, after the long Journey South comes to its end!

When your Symbolic Butterflies arrive this fall, I will take them to our children in the regional towns and communities. They are waiting to hear from you once again this year!

Welcome to Angangueo, monarchs and friends!
