Reports of robins soared as warmer weather brought their first surge northward. How's that for a welcome sign of spring?

Highlights: First Push Northward

The past week brought a threefold rise in "first" robin reports compared to last week. Wisconsin, Michigan and Minnesota led the way—evidence of the warming temps these northern states finally enjoyed.

"First one this season! So glad to see our feathered friends arriving!"

Spring is Coming
Though March weather can be variable, the longer daylight hours and more moderate temperatures can't stop spring from coming.

"One robin singing pieces of True Song at sunrise today! It lasted for about 20 seconds. Not like declaring territory where he sings it mornings and evenings, over and over until it drives you crazy. We've had record breaking high temperatures in the 60's and 70F these last 3 days. One more day of 60's then back to the 40's where we should be this time of year."
