Chick Chat: Flying High! | Hear
Pilot Brooke: >> Audio Clip by Mark Chenoweth, Whoopers Happening |
|
"We
have trained every day this week," reports Bev, "with just
a few delays in the morning due to fog. The only sessions missed
in the
past
three
weeks
were due to the health checks. All the birds are flying now, and
the youngest ones quickly catching up. They flew 10 minutes yesterday.
Cohort 2 is flying for 35 minutes and cohort 1 has been up for as long
as
40 minutes." And today the divider fence in their pen came down! (It
will go up again at night for a few more days.) |

Change4Cranes: Fun Fundraiser | ||
The
folks at Operation Migration, who conduct the chicks' fall ultralight-led
migration that we share on Journey North, have a fun project
offer for teachers and kids. They’ll send you a Change4Cranes kit
to collect people’s spare change. When sent to Operation Migration,
the money raised goes to fund this historic migration. You'll know
you helped make it happen. Get your kit before they're gone: >> |
