Dear
friends from Journey North:
Perhaps you should know only some weeks after Monarchs leave us in March,
the beautiful Swallows come to us.
For decades we have found it so normal to have swallows either making
new nests or coming back to their empty nests for about eight months under
the roofs of our houses...
We love to have them and hear them bickering early --still dark-- in the
mornings and going to their nests early in the afternoon just before dark
after busy mornings and not easy fresh, cloudy and raining afternoons.
Now, they've
been with us for about one and a half month. For mature females it is
now time to lay their eggs, and in some weeks, we should see the baby
swallows leaning their little bald heads out of their nests screamign
to their mom to urge her look for food..
We love to have them with us over the whole summer and a bit of the early
autumn.

Queridos amigos de Journey North:
Han de saber que en cuanto las Mariposas Monarcas se van de nuestra región,
llegan a nosotros las hermosas golondrinas.
Por décadas, éstas llegan a habitar la parte interior de
los techos de nuestras casas, construyendo nuevos nidos ó tambien
ocupando sus nidos del año anterior que había permanecido
vacío por casi ocho meses.
Nos encanta tenerlas con nosotros, alegran nuestras casas, nos fascina
oírlas chismosear muy temprano durante las mañanas cuando
aún está oscuro, y después de mañanas ocupadas
y no fáciles tardes frescas, nubladas y lluviosas, verlas, antes
de que anochezca, ir a su nido a dormir. Después de mes y medio
de estar con nosotros, es tiempo ya para las hembras adultas de poner
sus huevecillos y esperar a que nazcan sus pequeños críos,
que semanas después, asomarán sus pequeñas y calvas
cabecillas del nido en espera de su mamá que les traerá
su comida.
Adoramos su compañía durante todo el Verano y una parte
del Otoño.
