In total, 1,015 Ambassadors were shipped to Mexico. We are so thankful for those participating classrooms, families, and groups that created beautiful and meaningful Ambassadors as their gift to the students in Mexico that will receive them.

Our North American long-distance winner is an Ambassador that traveled from Nova Scotia to Angangueo, Michoacan, a distance of 5,805 km.

We encourage you to put your Ambassador on the Journey North Symbolic Migration Participant Map. Not sure how to do that? It’s easy; just follow the directions here.

23,908 life-sized butterflies were created as part of this project. We wanted to share some of the unique ways that participants used these to teach lessons.

  • adding the “daddy dots” on the hind wings to indicate males
  • naming the colors in Spanish
  • making it a lesson in symmetry
  • making the wings a basis for art

Estela Romero started her visits to schools near the base of Cerro Pelón in the state of Mexico the week of November 7-11, 2022. Visit the Symbolic Migration blog site to see photos and a list of Ambassadors that landed at this location.

Remember that you can always use the SEARCH function at the top of the home page to enter your town or school/ group name to find your Ambassador. Be patient as the delivery of Ambassadors will continue through February 2023.
